i’m excited about the prospect of entering the workforce again, but i’m not looking forward to the dress code. i don’t wanna be stuck wearing slacks all the time!

played a new years game of the slay the spire board game. i’m so sad to have to say goodbye to my silent deck! 2 backflips, 2 acrobatics, 2 dagger throw, with envenom and after images. so much cards draw! the constant shuffling did highlight the poor resilience of the art sleeves though :c

i really like posting on bluesky, but I have a hard time lingering and discovering new people. i tend to just check on a few people manually. does anyone have tips for making browsing a bit more interesting?

we always think about the cringe 40 year old saying modern slang awkwardly and incorrectly, but hearing my 7 year old niece say to her friend "no, you are actually cooking so much right now!" throws me for just as much of a loop

Ohio Democratic lawmakers are asking the state legislature to undo laws on the books that they say conflict with the reproductive rights amendment passed by voters in 2023 that's now part of the Ohio Constitution.

All jokes aside it's really fucked up to see so many people on here celebrating murder. No one here is the judge of who deserves to live or die. That's the job of the AI algorithm the insurance company designed to maximise profits on your health and no one else

power company fucked up repair work weeks ago and arrived today to fix it. they began work on our meter today, and turned off the power, with ZERO confirmation that the residents were safe to have power turned off. i lost hours of progress on a difficult project. i am LIVID.

on this thanksgiving, there are some things i’m thankful for. my family, my friends, D&D. there are also things i’m not thankful for that i won’t mention. there’s also things i’m hopeful for, that those who care for the marginalized will come together in a community of resistance. enjoy the turkey!

There’s a key distinction between saying “things are really horrible and bleak BUT we can work together to survive this” and “everything is totally fucked forever and we should give up now and wait for death.”

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Be a Gandalf, not a Denethor
it's honestly so fucked up that the mythology used to explain pain from childbirth is victim blaming. "yeah it's your own fault this biologically essential function for our survival as a species hurts so much. shouldn'ta ate the apple"

I don’t know why anyone bothers arguing with anyone else on here; in like 16 years of using Twitter I’ve kinda found that nobody ever changes their mind through an argument, but you can just post yr thoughts on things and sometimes folks will come around

watching people quote this to argue with it and the mind truly reels like why why would you do this
