History nerd and recovering political obsessive. Photography and architecture enjoyer. Believer in the Oxford comma.
Hilarious. He’s not going to be the nominee or president. You know that, right? He had no constituency outside of the green rooms of DC. And most of them probably hate him too!

Rolling Stone, Daily Beast, Morning Joe, etc. all flogging this garbage. Do they actually believe this drivel they write / broadcast?!? 0.0% chance for ole “Rhambo” to be the nominee. He probably wouldn’t get a single delegate!

100%. There’s even a whole book about it. Trump’s giving him a run for his money, though.

Yes, I filed for my wife and daughter though, alas, I am not eligible. They are French-Canadian / Acadians going back to the founding of Port Royal, Nova Scotia in the 1600’s. Currently running about a year to even have someone at IRCC review it. Fingers crossed!

Loved how the “experts” the writer referenced were 1) some dude from the Manhattan Institute and 2) rich lady and failed politician Kelly Loeffler. Who could argue with that dynamic duo? Case closed!

FIB stands for “fucking Illinois bastard.” Folks in Wisconsin understandably resent all the affluent Chicago folks invading the Northwoods and lake communities every summer. And buying up property for their vacation homes. As a (non-bastard) Illinoisan, I can’t really say I blame them all that much.

Whitmer has a 0.0% chance of being the nominee, but thanks for your keen political insights. Also, can we get past the midterms first before you start slobbering all over ‘28 “contenders”?!?

Absolute dipshittery.

Smart, they should be. Wish we were showing similar caution, feels like we’re barreling headlong towards a 2008-style crash when the AI bubble bursts.

Wouldn’t be taking Reagan’s advice, either. “Democrats - what you really need to do is slash taxes on the wealthiest, deregulate everything, crush the unions, remember that Medicare is evil socialism, and shovel ever more billions into the military. Then I will vote for you!” Love, The Gipper

See also: Tom Nichols at the Atlantic. Dude remains a down the line Reagan Republican who happens to find Trump personally distasteful. And then presumes to instruct the Democratic Party on what they should be doing and who they should be nominating while sharing none of the underlying policy views.

It’s like the Wall Street journal editorial board giving Mamdami some friendly advice because they are so deeply invested in his success…

That editorial was ridiculous, even by the Tribune’s standards. But, I’m sure Colonel McCormick’s paper has the best interests of the Democratic party at heart here, given their long-standing and notable affection for the political left.

Was clearly referring to Jeff Flake, the former Senator and author of the op-ed in question who was exhorting Maine Democrats to vote for Susan Collins. Parker also helpfully snapshotted Flake’s Wikipedia page, photo of him and everything, so not sure how this managed to be confusing.

I’m sure this lifelong, very conservative Republican has the best interests of the Democratic Party and its voters at heart. And, yes, I know he got cross-wise with Trump. Doesn’t change anything.

At the time the house was built, Nordlie and Labinsky were working together under the name “Labinsky & Nordlie,” masonry contractors. Nordlie would have been just 25 years old and this is the earliest example I've seen of his work, though of course there may be others out there.

According to Ordinary Houses, its front facade is fashioned from Bedford limestone mined in Indiana, with smooth stones on the upper level and rusticated on the bottom. The building permit was registered on August 5, 1897 by architect Edward H. Nordlie and mason Charles W. Labinsky.

But the view of the refinery is just so picturesque. And you’re not going to get those unique smells just anywhere!

Though, fortunately, given that they will only play 9 or so games there a year, they are unlikely to be at elevated risk of cancer from the contaminated soil. Go Bears!

Last winter I googled the time of the Bears-Rams playoff game and Gemini confidently reported to me the outcome of that game, including details of what had transpired, notwithstanding the fact that it would not actually take place for days. Amazing, well done, now please f off for ever and ever, AI.

This was the same jerkwad who was huffing and puffing after Judge Fuentes offered up some modest criticism of the US Attorneys office when dismissing very weak charges of assault against an ICE agent back in Nov. “Who does he think he is, grandstanding like that?” said Hogan. Shameful and shameless.
