Fair enough. Let’s see what the first-choice group does Wednesday. I’d still rather play 45 minutes of serious soccer, go for the lead, then manage minutes than effectively punt the opening half...and, as a result, the game.

That makes Sunday a better test, honestly. Good teams have to carry momentum through rotation too. If the level falls off immediately, Cruz Azul was a moment, not a turn.
