For #FluorescenceFriday, I am sharing a first glimpse at Mona Wellhäusser's @mofrawe.bsky.social new nuclei expansion microscopy.
Stained are bulk protein, bulk DNA, and nuclear pore complexes (NPC). Expansion is supposed to be 16x, in all three dimensions. Imaged with @visitech.bsky.social iSIM.

Almost all hands on deck today in Hilbert lab meeting. Postdoc Ewa very small on Zoom, PhD student Nils substituted for a colleague for a talk; associated fellow Simon and Master student Georg not in the photo. I just felt super happy I can work with this group, so I am sharing selfie greetings 👋 😃

Last night Science Slam with a full house at Tollhaus, as part of @kit.edu Science Week. As one of four slammers, our PhD student Mona Wellhäusser @mofrawe.bsky.social entertained a huge audience, putting fish in jello for microscopy, (optically) slicing a pumpkin. Great show, fantastic atmosphere!

One-cell-stage to 21-somite-stage development of a zebrafish embryo
The video shows the development of a zebrafish embryo from one-cell-stage to 21-somite-stage. Unedited videos, as well as a sped-up version are available. Videos were recorded and edited by Mona Wellhäusser and Timo Schreiber in the research group headed by Lennart Hilbert at the Institute of Biological and Chemical Systems, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
