Crockett: Instead of the President cosplaying as the next pope, he may want to cosplay as an actual President of these United States.

My niece loved her job, then DOGE took it from her yesterday, just like it did to a friend’s son last month. And thousands of others. And this is just AmeriCorps - this doesn’t include all the hundreds of thousands of others left unemployed in other fields across the country.

I don’t do bumper stickers but I’d put this on my car.
Kudos to AP for fighting for a place at the table. Media coverage of our government should never be restricted to those with whom the administration agrees or, worse, those for which it controls the narrative.
I happen to know that some powerful media orgs were unhappy that AP filed suit; they thought the conflict with the White House would blow over on its own and that AP risked making bad law. The AP's leadership deserves a lot of credit for having proceeded as it did. apnews.com/article/trum...

In the first five hours of my pre-surgical leave I: made birthday weekend plans for a music festival in MKE, visited a friend’s daughters and their new baby chicks, did a 2-mile walk with the dog, and sent responses to queries in 9 chapters back to my editor.
