As for the "lightweight" claim, a bare minimum setup could have 1 system animator layer, 1 synced param, and 1 avie specific animator layer that you most likely already have anyway.
On my own 'Good' perf-rated avatar used in the vids, I have 2 synced params and use both of GG's animator layers.

I can't read I guess because that pic is from 2013 and the file name says it, lol. Anyway, I found this earlier attempt at honse drawing from a couple years before that one, and idk, but I think my drawing got significantly worse between 2011 and 2013 🤔

These 2 screenshots are of a temporary stand-in (aka ugly) wet-patch decal applied to a base game pair of underpants, and a pair of underpants from another mod. I'm basically just doing a multiply layer over the items' original textures.
