We do, but the prices are set globally. So ~30% of the oil stops, it raises the prices for everybody regardless of where specifically ours comes from. Canada could theoretically just not raise their prices but private industry has no incentive to take a loss when they can charge more.

We don't purchase any oil from Iran, but all the countries we do purchase from are unable to ship it here because of Iran. Gas prices go up because Iran has stopped the shipment of oil from the mid east.

The Hormuz Strait is the issue. Somewhere between 20-34% of the global oil supply moves through it, and Iran has effective control over it currently.

I'm really loving the political/ideological discourse in game. Whereas Disco really made me feel like they criticized politics as all being equally stupid (even communism gets a little criticism), I feel like Ebb really works hard to show the good and bad of all its ideas.
