Call your rep/senators, esp. if they're Republicans.

We can all do our part to acknowledge that gasoline is not our friend, and that the fear, uncertainty and doubt that the oil & gas lobby spreads is meant to prevent us from moving onto a better thing.

It's past time to wean ourself off gasoline. That doesn't mean you need to personally put solar panels on your roof. There's lots of ways to be part of the solution as a citizen.

...Unlike gas, once we have them, solar panels and batteries work for decades. Even a shattering of the supply chain is a roadblock we have time to surmount—rather than a disruption in gas causing an instant crisis that makes all of us immediately pay more and many fear being left without.

For new, take a look at the longtail Trek Fetch+2, on sale (likely clearance / discountinuing them) for $3k (half the MSRP). I know little of it; I just ordered the bakfiets Fetch+4 for a similarly steep sale.

Seems to point to that. I've taken the opportunity to grab one and will hope Trek can help with any needed replacement parts for a good stretch of time. Our local Trek shop seems helpful. I got 2x Rain Cover just in case of tears, etc.

Maybe like me they just now got a Fetch+4 due to the steep sales Trek has on them right now (at least in the U.S. but I think everywhere). At MSRP I would have bought an Urban Arrow instead, but after having a pretty good test ride on the Fetch+4 I couldn't turn it down with that discount price.
