Yeah, this economy is thriving. We are simply taking maxxing to the next level. Why not, it’s what our government is doing?!
Kevin Hassett: "The consumer is really, really firing on all cylinders…Credit card spending is through the roof. They're spending more on gasoline, but they're spending more on everything else too."

Things that make you go hmm
Roberts went to a judicial conference in Hershey, Pennsylvania today and complained that the public wrongly sees Supreme Court justices as “political actors.” He said people mistakenly think the court makes policy decisions rather than legal ones.

Listening to The Bulwark today with guests Ronan Farrow and Andrew Marantz was eye opening, to say the least.
@ronanfarrow.bsky.social and Andrew Marantz asked Sam Altman whether running an A.I. company was a job that came with “an elevated requirement of integrity.” This was supposed to be an easy question.

They don’t want you to believe what you can see with your own eyes. Say it with your chest! Fascism
The party that has spent unlimited resources and energy getting states to pass laws to allow citizens to openly carry loaded weapons anywhere - now believes that exercising this right is permission for law enforcement to murder you.
Honestly, how dumb do they think we are?

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

Haha! We accidentally cancelled it very briefly. Haha.
Buckle up.
Buckle up.
Ebola? EBOLA?

Right now in the Capitol: The Senate is about to vote on an amendment to the GOP budget bill focused on bringing down the cost of groceries. Let’s see if Republicans are as interested in cutting your grocery bills as they are in giving billionaires tax cuts.

I'm really intrigued by the idea here from D Graham Burnett @danielleallen.bsky.social and Peter Schmidt of algorithm regulation (while not regulating the underlying speech, which of course is the very tricky question).
