Hey babe, the sky's on fire... And to top it off, the whales are back home to Maui. If they're born here they usually make an annual trek from the cold northern waters. Roughly 10,000 per season.

A feral rooster has taken up residence in the trees in our backyard and serenades us at 4:30 AM. Checking the laws regarding rooster arrest, it turns out that on private property it's totally fine to lure non-pet visitors into humane traps and to relocate them.
Wish me good luck on my fowl safari.

Morning walks - Are You My Mother? - On the walk this morning, an egret decided to walk with us for about a mile. He'd fall behind occasionally looking for bugs and fly quickly to catch up. He wasn't shy a bit.

Sax on the beach - we were doing an early morning walk on the south side of Maui and heard some cool tunes coming up from the beach. I got a pretty good pic and a very mediocre video for you guys.

After living on Maui for 13 years, we've been blessed (?) with a rooster that has taken up residence in our back yard. He sounds off about 45 minutes before sunrise. I have mixed feelings about this. I took care of chickens as a child, so it's nostalgic. On the other hand, do we need a rooster?

Firing key FBI employees has generated much concern. To assuage this, I'd suggest that they change the name from the FBI to something like:
Government Enforcement Surveillance Threat Analysis and Policing Organization
That would greatly help the public understand their goals. Just saying...
