Get what you care about physically. Nobody can ever take that away from you. Make any dent you can in this anti-ownership practice. Hurt their wallet, that's all they care about. In the best case, enough pushback can help reverse bad decisions. Otherwise, it will only get worse.

They already deactivated a bunch of legally purchased movies, because they never saw you as an owner of them anyway. The same thing can and likely will happen to a beloved game of yours.

Stand up to this garbage. Make Sony act better and set a better precedent. Even if it just prolongs the timer, we have to do something. They will do everything in their power to sell us nothing more than Stadia streaming boxes for games that can be remotely deactivated.

We somehow already lost CD support on newer disc readers like the PS5's, and I'm not expecting them to even entertain the idea of the PS6 even having a disc reader. This is clearly a move to get ahead of the disappointment when they announce it won't exist in the near future.

It extends beyond video games, too. Many people use these consoles as 4K/Blu-ray players for movies and shows, which have been getting underserved by manufacturers as well. This is going to hurt a vast amount of people that care about their libraries.

We have to throw this back in their face. This basic idea won PlayStation so much credit early in the 8th generation, and it comes across as so bitter and alien now that a complete 180 has been taken.

I understand many platforms already have digital libraries, and many users do not care and are happy with that, but there's a big chunk of us that likes having the disc. The system has worked for decades. You can sell a used game, lend it to a friend, give it to a friend, etc.

While I'm not surprised, I'm incredibly sad that we have finally gotten to this low point. I hate big manufacturers telling us that nobody wants physical media, when it's blatantly just them not wanting to make it and give us any semblance of ownership.
