It's that time of year when the house cools a tad too much, later in the day.
I think Annie agrees...

I must be getting nesh in my old age! Only 10th Sept, and I've sparked the stove up.
(Mind you, the sweep came yesterday and it's had a right going over, including a new set of fire bricks. I also seem to have a slight cold...).

It's finally arrived!
My Witches of Scotland tartan scarf: hand-woven to order.
It's fabulous quality.
(Now thinking of saving up to order the wrap, which would not arrive until next year if I ordered it now!)

Just beautiful!
I've a harvest maiden one that's about 35 years old, and I treasure her.

Back at Whitby for the week's folk festival.
Already shattered, and I'm not even dancing.
Currently sitting in the foyer of the Spa Complex, listening to the ongoing music session.

Got held up coming away from my massage session in Cornhill on Tweed: the annual Flodden Ride out from (I think) Coldstream, over the Tweed, to the site of the battle (1513).
The last time a monarch was killed on English soil (James IV of Scotland).
There must have been a couple of hundred riders.

Hit the Paxton House antique fair again, a few days ago.
Somebody needs to put a restraining order on me to keep me away from the wonderful Rowan Cottage Antiques stand!
Hard paste this time, and it's isn't a pastille burner, despite the chimney.

Out with Rag Bag morris yesterday evening (playing, not dancing). I forgot how hot it can get under a black bowler hat!
They're in my village on Sunday afternoon for the arts festival, so I will probably join them: their main (loud) musician's away and they need a more volume in the band.

A photo from Sunday's performance in Amble.

Here are Tribe Zuza in a group shot from yesterday, beside the Coquet river at Amble harbour.
Nobody fell in!
(FYI - I'm second from the left at the back)

A happy little bee on one of my roses.
(Eye of the Tiger, should you wish to know)
Use sound for it.
Any background noise may be a train on the East Coast Main line, probably doing about 100mph...

Wearing the appropriate hoidy today, especially as it is truly "just up the road" from me - can see it from the top of the village.

A day for this hoody, I feel!

You can see Lindisfarne from the hill at the top of my road, and I can be on the Island quite quickly (tide permitting). Only drawback is that I have to drive a way north first to reach the causeway.
