No shortage of opinions, but I try only to comment on college football or what I read in The Economist.
Industrial grade Tollbooth London logic from Khan…

But reading is not convenient and vulnerable to the characteristics of the world population under 40.

It’s why radio took the world by storm a century ago.

I can DM something more in-depth, but this day has been coming for the last six hundred years in the Anglo-Saxon world where reading and literacy is more a sign of the elite and not mass media.

Podcasting is a different beast and at the mercy really of one company.

He has that power, lol.
September 13, 2026 at 5:39 PM
Okay that article is a tease, lol.

I thought it was about consumer behavior and it’s just talking about economic rent seeking by oligopolies.

Still worth a read though!

Altman is trying to sell tokens to tech bros.

He’s treating AI like an airline miles credit card.

Terrible idea because you are using People’s Republic of China level hukuo against the US which uncontested freedom of movement.

In a vacuum perhaps there’s an argument to made though.
August 7, 2026 at 7:21 PM
Absolutely not.

Can you train an AI agent to be very good at pleading and filing complaints, yes. But that’s because an LLM can regress to the mean.

Can it read a jury or do discovery?

Yeah right.

And you don’t have to worry any longer about streets turning into mud, securing your sword, or getting hot under all that chain mail, lol.

Good politics as policy, lol.

TBH, “the South” in American culture is equally intangible and yet universally recognizable. Moreover, wasn’t who was the PM again who said “in the north they love me?”

Spoils system n’all that…

Rumor has it Burnham’s first major public works project will be to repair Offa’s Dyke.
July 3, 2026 at 7:55 AM
We know, lol.
May 19, 2026 at 8:52 AM
You just have a combination of content creators and bots chasing clicks about the “AI take your job” because there are lot of software engineers who just got let go, lol.
April 19, 2026 at 11:46 PM
This is bad though.

Can you imagine what would would happen at The Economist in someone published that headline?
April 10, 2026 at 9:14 PM
This sounds like one of those classic cutting room decisions where they kept doing random options to make the island name legible and by the end had totally dismissed having it south oriented would confuse everyone….

It depends on if you are talking in the aggregate or individually.

The main challenge in a market economy is that the sicker you are, the less you can afford your care.

Is this a story you wrote?

As long as prescription medications are cheaper than the labor cost of aides or other care staff…there’s no debate.
April 1, 2026 at 2:38 AM
That’s why Twitter’s former CEO told the Senate panel on youth protections for social media that only 1% of users on the platform were under 13, lol.

“You don’t have to worry about kids seeing inappropriate things if they don’t want to read the post first!”

No, but implying a more generous welfare state implies some sort of Luddite rejection of technology is a funny joke.

The challenge there is that until there’s a sufficiently larger secondary market of light duty trucks and all-electric vehicles to shift behavior.

$8 gas can’t benefit motorists because the vehicle is a sunk cost.

Indeed, a time when the standard of living for ordinary folks in Europe and the US was much higher.

The rise of the two-income household has created a race to the bottom in the name of gender equality.

That’s not to say that the social impact isn’t important, just that it came at a cost.
