As a theatre kid who married a chorus-and-theatre kid (lots of overlap) I heartily endorse this post. Also, wrt to the last point, why not both?

What happened and "changed our children?" The reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act in 1990s that and included autism as a covered disabilities. Schools had to report how many autistic students they served. Who was a cosponsor of that bill? RFK Jr.'s uncle Ted Kennedy.

Okay so here's a basic math thing that anyone talking about demographics needs to learn: the absolute number of something can rise even as the percentage falls.
Example: there are FAR more male doctors than there were 100 years ago. But the percentage of doctors who are men has fallen.
