I'm a firm believer that the only bad things I can ever say about ANY design for Samus throughout the whole of Metroid's history is that:
a. They should have kept her green hair.
b. Her arms should be more buff.
Other than those two things, every design of Samus ever is a 10/10.

I'll soften my take to say I'm mostly just disappointed, rather than UPSET by the remake look.
I think it's a bit unfitting & I would have PREFERRED something closer to OoT's concept art or the 3DS take.
But there's stuff there I do like, I think general consensus right now is a lil TOO negative.

I love looking at the concept art for OoT, seeing where they were pulling from aesthetically. Even when the hardware of the N64 limits them, it's very clear they have a distinct visual language for the whole game. "We're this cute 50/50 mix of Disney and anime!".
It's a strong base to design from.
