The thing is there’s actually a LOT of conservative media, and it’s pretty popular. TV and movies are full of hero cops, evil terrorists, just wars, strange invaders, psycho killers, and nasty women. What Matt is recognizing here is a lack of successful FASCIST media. Audiences don’t like fascism.
The problem is that “I am often scared and angry about social change” does not inherently lend itself to interesting art. You can be as technically skilled as the greats, but art with nothing interesting to say is just a commodity.
