3 day weekends are nice.
Chopped down a cactus (apparently a bio-security risk). Went and saw my brothers new place. Went on a 14km walk. Fell asleep in a hammock. Cooked a BBQ dinner. Watched a movie.
Life's not all bad and seems much better now i don't feel compelled to watch my footy team play.

Another sensational day here in SEQ. Kids are in the pool. We put up with disgusting humidity over the traditional summer months here but April through to October is ideal.
If only I didn't have to work 5 days a week to survive. There's just so much relaxation available.

Could be found at AB field watching an amazing chase by the VCA boys. Super fun day, $0 charge to attend. No parking charge either. Beautiful place to watch cricket too.
Quiet here given his new ❤️ state is playing his former home in a one dayer, and #CricketIsBack.

35 degrees, no humidity, some wind gusts. Shame I retired 8 years ago.

It's a cracking start to Sunday here and the forecast has the temperature going up to 31 by Friday.
Knocked out 2 walks yesterday and today which followed a tough old hike on Friday. Sore legs now.
Hike was to Mt Maroon. Unbelievable views to go with the peaceful minutes at the top.

Midsomer Murders was ridiculous by half way through it's run but I miss the semi regular murder mystery shows.
Where is the new replacements to Morse, Frost, Foyle, Poirot, Marple or Holmes?

Blaming an entire demographic because of the behaviour or attitudes of a few is pretty short sighted.
Too many conversations on social media revolve around splitting society into groups.
Men/Women
Ethnic or nationality divisions
Generation vs generation
Too many assumptions & too little empathy

I dip my cap to those that have the courage and resilience to put everything on the line to start their own business. I can only imagine the stress that would come with that.
Then they have to employ people. Yikes.
I'm often stressed to the Max about my mortgage debt.

Somehow I have ended up with 3 daughters that love musicals and spend a significant amount of time at home singing musical numbers together.
Not the background noise I thought I'd get to my Sundays at home when I imagined how they'd be as teens.
Better than arguments though.

Losing on a Sunday afternoon is way worse than Losing on Saturday. Waiting all weekend to watch another training drill for the opposition really saps my enthusiasm.

Tomorrow is not only Mothers Day but also my eldest child's 18th birthday.
We went shopping today and will be going for lunch tomorrow. I am now close to being bankrupt.

Been swimming today after a 10km walk this morning. Kids are staying with their grandparents so the house is quiet and peaceful. If you want to visit SEQ there's no better month than April.

John Williams is an absolute master of movie soundtracks. Superman, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Home Alone, Harry Potter plus plus plus. He's a gun.
instantly recognisable music & themes.
But i think the best soundtrack from any film goes to The Last of the Mohicans. It's ace.

I wasn't outside long today but just spending some time out in the garden doing this or that really helps to make me feel better. As much as i love watching sport or movies or playing video games if I spend the whole day inside I get edgy.
