We need to move from big thinking to big building. You cannot build tomorrow’s Europe with yesterday’s rules: what we need is qualified majority voting, a targeted treaty reform and the flexibility to let those who are ready move ahead now, without being held hostage by vetoes.

• Trotz dieser Empfehlung setzte eine umstrittene «Expertengruppe» des Bundes die Steuer auf den letzten Platz ihrer Prioritätenliste für mögliche Zusatzeinnahmen. • Dies, weil der Ökonom Christoph Schaltegger vom privat finanzierten Institut für Schweizer Wirtschaftspolitik (IWP) sich in der Gruppe gegen die Steuer ausgesprochen hatte. Aufgrund dieser mangelnden Priorisierung liess der Bundesrat die Grundstückgewinnsteuer fallen.

Nur mal so ein kleiner Reminder wegen Sachsen-Anhalt: Im Schweizer Bundesland (Kanton) Thurgau erreichte die SVP ("Schwesterpartei" der AfD) 2023 knapp 40,3 % der Stimmen, in Appenzell Ausserrhoden 47,7 %.
