Berliner Grüne & SPD aktuell bei jedem Interview: Nein, mit den Linken können wir nicht regieren wegen Antisemitismus? Moment, was? Die CDU veruntreut ohne Ende Gelder gegen Antisemitismus und kuschelt mit Rechtsextremen, die die Demokratie abschaffen wollen & wohl auch bald können. Aber die Linke??

these quotes are the DEFENDANTS, describing THEIR OWN CONDUCT as “an astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions” and the “largest theft of labor in human history” as well as describing their products as “largely substitutive, period” and “will get more and more substitutive as they get better.”

Enormous amounts of intelligence has been expended in trying to interpret this man's actions and words into some set of coherent strategies or plans.

He's an idiot who doesn't understand anything. That's all.

“Applying the bare minimum sanctions required by law risks deepening and intensifying Israel’s status as a genocidal society” is an Israel problem, for them to work out. It is not a problem for the rest of the world, who should be looking at harsher enforcement mechanisms, not fewer.

idk man I don’t want the earth to light on fire and most people feel the same and it’s not fair that a handful of people get to ignore that and kill everyone in exchange for enough money that they could never spend it all if they tried

the situation is that the people who would like the military to, like, fire on the legislature, or on ordinary citizens demonstrating for democratic power - they do not deserve common human empathy. we have seen what common human empathy does. it allows them to come back and try again.

It's not about making new intelligence or the singularity (aside from the wild-eyed True Believers). It's not about a golden age of prosperity. It's the same old bullshit of getting in the way of every transaction and taking a bite and making sure labor doesn't get any of it.

What is consciousness? What is sentience? These are philosophical question that have been asked since the dawn of time. How lucky we are to live in a time where 7 people in Northern California realised the answer is “being able to predict the most statistically significant next word in a sentence”

And, worse: “Sensible Centrists vs Fascists” suits the Sensibles down to the ground. They get to keep their important jobs and status, and they might get the occasional turn in power. What’s not to like? Macron and Biden were absolutely fine with it, and it is not different here.

I look at what’s happening and I have to ask: if the leaders of Europe had agreed in 2022 that it was time to move urgently towards wartime fascism continent-wide, then put their security services to work on making that happen, then how would things look different now?

I think mentioning just the "traditional right surrendering" is a bit self-masturbatory on Sanchez's part, because in large part traditional social democrats have been surrendering, too, and are refusing to admit that they have long since abandoned social democracy in favour of neoliberalism.

Important to recognise that "legitimate concerns" is performative, not descriptive.

People are not saying "you are justified in being concerned about this real problem."

They are saying "these are the things we are prepared to treat as legitimate."
When I lived in the UK none of my concerns e.g. affordable housing, climate action, increases in welfare spending, scrapping tuition fees, an ethical foreign policy, were ever framed as legitimate concerns. lnstead I was routinely told to fuck off by most political parties for having such concerns.

I’m convinced that a huge cause of the derangement & dysfunction of our current age is a lot of elites, including Donald Trump, getting prompted by the pandemic to confront their own mortality for the first time ever, and freaking the fuck out.
i really cannot maintain enough that my current theory of donald trump is that he is utterly gripped by the terror of death, and is desperately attempting to leave some mark on the world that history cannot erase--this is the point of the wars, the annexation threats, the dc vandalism

Really quite something to see the right wing press gearing up for more all out, non stop attacking of another vulnerable group in real time.
This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting.

People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”.

Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick.

Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.

I support a two-state solution but oppose recognizing Palestine, punishing settlement expansion, enforcing the plain letter of law on arms transfers to Israel, doing anything to support any Palestinian group at any point for any reason, and think the ICC is antisemitic for indicting Netanyahu.
