this will literally spell the end of public transit in pittsburgh. how many millions of dollars did PRT waste doing focus groups about how best to beautify busway stops and developing an absolutely trash bus line redesign instead of shoring up service so riders could rely on the transit system?
Some pretty dire cuts proposed by Pittsburgh Regional Transit if it can't get a state funding increase.
- 35% service reduction
- 41 routes eliminated
- No service after 11 PM
- Base fare becomes $3.00, 5th-highest in U.S.
- No direct bus from airport to city
- 180K residents losing transit access
