With the NEC returning to a 9-team conference following SFU's departure to D3, the conference must revert to a 16-game league schedule, likely with the return of double byes within the 9-week NEC schedule, giving even more flexibility to the basketball schedule in 2026-27. #NECMBB #NECWBB

The NEC announced today in its annual Spring Meeting release that the league, in what will essentially be a one-year trial, will be moving select conference games from its traditional Thursday to Wednesday to help with travel and open some streaming/TV opportunities. #NECMBB #NECWBB

Halfway through today's slate of #NECMBB games. Congrats to New Haven for being the first NEC school to host a Big Ten team on its home floor. The result was not unexpected as they fell by 44 to the Nittany Lions. FDU trails Saint Peter's at the half. Mercyhurst is about to tip its home opener.

LIU WBB is back in action tonight as they are in Tampa to face a very good South Florida team. USF is currently ranked 56th at Bart Torvik. Torvik has LIU as a -30 point underdog. #LIUWBB

Last night was a fun night of #NECMBB. Two road wins from LIU and Mercyhurst + Le Moyne gave Xavier a tough game before falling to them. Chicago State held its own against Saint Louis before falling off in the second half. Disappointing loss for CCSU as Quinnipiac won convincingly.

Last night was a fun night of #NECMBB. Two road wins from LIU and Mercyhurst + Le Moyne gave Xavier a tough game before falling to them. Chicago State held its own against Saint Louis before falling off in the second half. Disappointing loss for CCSU as Quinnipiac won convincingly.
If LIU plans to win tonight, its defense, especially its 3-point defense, has to play way better than it did Monday night at Notre Dame. Two big keys for LIU tonight: rebounding & protecting the ball. IU Indy's press and them playing at home are going to make the first 8-10 mins important. #LIUMBB

After a jam-packed #NECMBB season opener on Monday in which all 10 teams were in action, today is the second straight day with no games. Not to worry. Beginning tomorrow, it will be the start of 13 straight days with at least one NEC team in action, including 6 games tomorrow.
