@lecagle.bsky.social and anyone else: Here's a prelim plot showing USGS 1817-2020 data extrapolated to the projected 2025 peak flood discharge. Based on the patterns of the past 200 years (i.e., no climate change included), it looks like the projected 2025 peak discharge may be a 700+ year event.

Let’s say I’m a big business. Can I outlast the president? Like, do I invest in restructuring everything, only for those tariffs to be rescinded in 4 years? Or do I wait it out? Sure I lose money, but Americans still need my widget. And if I’m another country… well, we trade elsewhere.

I still don’t quite understand the tariffs on Canada. Like, aren’t the vast majority of drugs brought into the country over the Mexico border, and isn’t it through legal crossings? So treating Canada like they’re at all comparable to Mexico, or that Mexico is responsible makes no sense to me.

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.
