My love languages: design, improv, storytelling, accordions, city walks, crabbing, tattoos, pickleball, people. I also do design exec / product strategy / research for a living. San Francisco. I'm newish here, so say hi with your strange + beautiful self.
Today in San Francisco:

Guy on the sidewalk, holding a clipboard, picks me out, sticks out his arm. Says many things quickly, with "nice to meet you" at the end.

I smile. "Nnnyah I'm gonna keep walking."

"Cmon it just takes a fucking minute."

~

10 steps later I hear: "I thought you were COOL."

I don't want to ask AI this, so I'm asking you:

My wife and I are visiting #Guadalajara, #Guanajuato + #Oaxaca late Aug/early Sep. What are your favorite neighborhoods to stay in or wander? Why?

Want: walk to everything, unsung-hero hoods. Not excited about: overhyped digital-nomad spots.

Switching back and forth between CBC and NBC for #canvusa hockey.

The Canadian feed's captured a lot more crowd noise and atmospheric sound than the American one.

CBC: goosebumps. NBC: television.

My fellow Americans, we are being robbed in this critical matter of national entertainment.

In my dream disruption scenario, the Bay Area's dirt bikers keep a peaceful but noisy as hell 'close watch' on the immigration agents being sent to San Francisco.

Boy meets Tijuana-style adobada tacos.

Boy falls in love.

Boy tries to recreate them at home. Takes all day.

Boy fucks it up: the pork, the marinade, both all wrong.

Boy grimaces, thinking … these only cost three measly bucks at the restaurant.

Boy sits, chewing pineapple chunks, pondering.

Portland’s Hottest New Speakeasy Is… in the Airport?
You can now wait for your flight inside a bar decked out like a 1970s spaceship.

Last night's dreams unfolded in strip malls:

Waiting forever to buy a suit I didn't want.

Mistaking an AA meeting for a restaurant—awkward.

My car, up for sale in the parking lot.

Then, elsewhere: a countryside bus ride. Without warning, the driver decided to compete in motocross. Doin' donuts.
