We popped into Robert Sayles (John Lewis) in Cambridge for a relaxing cup of tea but is it possible to ignore such a teapot travesty? In a Morecambe and Wise style, they had all the right colour lids but not necessarily on the right colour teapots

End of another month so it is time to look back on the month of September 365project.org/nickrh14/365...

Holiday postcard from an enjoyable week in Southern Scotland. Mainly the Rhins and Machars of Galloway based in Newton Stewart

This sign is in Wigtown for #fingerpostFriday. It is known as Scotland's book town which is why book shops feature on two of the fingers

You don't see enough pastry forks these days. Tea from a pot is a minimum requirement obviously

So that was August. Always my favourite part of the daily photo project is the chance to look back at the end of the month. 365project.org/nickrh14/365...

An unexpected delay to my train this morning was #NetworkRail track inspection vehicle 153385 which stopped at the platform for the crew to change ends before heading back south down the Arun Valley line. With recent worries about track conditions it's good to know it is being inspected #ukrailways

Neither Horsham council nor the West Chiltington silver band are on here but great to have a bit of music in the Carfax market this morning. Lots of crowd pleasers from the band and plenty of people sitting in the sun enjoying it

Lovely. We haven't got any pom poms this year. Not quite sure why but the others have been flowering nicely #dahlia

Looks as if we may have one that is the same as yours

By the amount of greenery it looks as if your heat has not been accompanied by the relentless drought which has taken out most of our garden plants. But the dahlias are doing well in their pots with daily watering and even some of the dried out things still look interesting

While sitting outside enjoying lunch in Canary Wharf I noticed that the DLR trains were being reflected in the glass of the Market Halls and quite liked it

Loose tea in a pot and rhubarb scones. Rhubarb? Yes. Delicious. Let's just say we enjoyed our lunch in Arundel (Cockburns tea room)

It was a very Bluesky day at Shoreham-by-Sea this afternoon and my favourite local hero sculpture (RNLI coxswain Peter Huxtable) was still looking good by the Adur Ferry Bridge

Visited Leith Hill this afternoon and found the tower open. Thanks to the lovely @nationaltrust.org.uk people for tipping me off on what to look for (Wind turbines off Shoreham, Gatwick, the Shard) and for allowing me to go to the highest spot in South East England at 313m above sea level

Another month complete. Looking back over the grid is my favourite part - even if sometimes finding a photo on a day when I've not done much can be tricky. 365project.org/nickrh14/365...

You can choose your own reasons why you visit the @nationaltrust.org.uk but even if it is just for the rabbits in the rooms then that is ok. Doesn't just have to be for the history, scones or the plant shop like this one at Standen in Sussex that we visited today

This week #fingerpostFriday takes us to the WWT at Slimbridge where the colourful signpost was being guarded by a flock of young geese 🪿 #birds

It's time for #thetraitorsCA now that season 3 is on iPlayer. They don't seem very good at putting up the name captions so it is just as well there is a handy grid online. Thankfully not all celebs

Reflections from a lovely, if hot, evening walk along the River Avon in Tewkesbury

Lovely breezy walk at Saddlescombe Farm on the South Downs Way with a bonus of bread pudding at the Wildflour Cafe and plenty of butterflies

What else do people try to do in the hotel conveyor belt toaster? In my experience the first pass doesn't toast enough and the second pass today's too much, but it is still toast

Perfect weather at Duxford for its summer air show. You know you are at a proper airshow when the smoke comes on
July 4, 2026 at 3:29 PM
It's a win win. I get a lightly loaded commute home after an office day and the OH can watch the football which will hopefully be over by the time I get in. I'll still be expecting dinner on the table obviously. Definitely fewer people waiting for the Jubilee Line at Canary Wharf as I departed
