This is why I hate "just a tool" so so so much.

You can make a calculator without access to every calculation. You can make photoshop without access to all photos.

Someone show me a genai tool that didn't require all of our labour in its production. It's plagiarism software.
Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft.
Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

Remember! This is who you're told to vote for as a trans person. You're told to shut up and vote for someone like this
Holy shit.

Marcy Kaptur becomes the latest Dem to release an anti-trans ad, and its worse than all the rest combined.

"I voted WITH Republicans to keep transgender ideology out of schools, and let me be clear, boys should NOT play in girls sports."

This is getting out of control.

Tapping my sign especially hard now, not that I’d ever want another Zelda game with this remake’s visual direction ever again.
Seeing people cheer on a potential Ocarina of Time remake is so indicative of the current culture.

“Ocarina of Time 3D was over 15 years ago, we’re due for a remake.”

Just make it more available, we have 3DS ports on Switch already! The resources spent on a remake could be for something original.

There's free CAD design software that runs entirely in a web browser and it's actually good and if you told me this 20 years ago I would have laughed in your face.

If nothing else, I think Obsession serves as antidote to the idea that "if this blows up there's going to be plenty to go around." The reality is people in indie film suddenly forget your number as soon as real money is around.

‘Obsession’ Producer Files Lawsuit Claiming She Was Cut Out of Profits Despite “Rescuing” Cut
Producers James Harris and Mark Lane are accused by fellow producer Leonora Ann Darby of making compensation promises that they did not keep when the Curry Barker feature became a massive hit.

“Lost media” no longer! I finally got permission to upload “AL’S BRAIN,” an 11-minute educational 3-D film attraction which ran at the Orange County and Western Washington fairs, and hasn’t been seen publicly since 2009. You can watch the whole thing here: youtu.be/2xujU87ZHt4

We're in an era where no company wants to be in their own industry, and are much more interested in financial shell games and pulling the copper out of the walls.

There is no economic struggle. The game industry is more profitable than ever. This is entirely managerial and executive failure.

Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how.

Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

Bro I grew up listening to the cassette tapes of these on the long car rides every weekend to my dad's, who grew up listening to it on the radio when it reran them in his home country.
I'm so happy I can share this with my dad so he can listen again.
I'll never know how, but when I was a kid, my grandmother had several old Shadow episodes on old reel-to-reel audio tapes. I used to love playing them when we'd visit her every summer. There's something truly special about audio dramas. Thank you, Archive.org !
