In comics, the "Look how brutal and edgy this hero has become" is not a sales pitch I want right now. I want my heroes to be heroes, to have strong morals, a code they won't violate easily, and hope. I want them to inspire and aspire for better.

I've heard lots of good jokes about trans people...generally from and by trans people. The key thing is those jokes are based in actual knowledge about the trans experience and foibles of daily life as opposed to mean-spirited, ignorant and boring attempts to join a moral panic.

My personal experience on X right now is that if you post anything progressive that achieves even the slightest virality you WILL be swarmed with bots, Nazis, and Nazi-bots, and while Bluesky can be VERY toxic the toxicity is nothing like X’s constant background radiation.
