"Armadyl comes from a world called Abbinah, that is made up of floating islands swirling about an endless storm. When writing him we found he was a gentle creature with a strong heart, and a desire to do what is right for his people. For Armadyl, he was a lonely creature with much love to give and so he took two mortal lovers, who help to define his deeper story. Our world is mercifully free of prejudices like homophobia and so we felt that it was only reasonable that a God could and should be gay, so we wrote this into his story. It's not a political statement as we are often accused, but rather it's a small detail that helps build our world, as well as Armadyl's character."
