Decided to look at 💙's old specmaps. Note: they are heavily edited from the original for my needs, but same principle, brighter pixels r glossier, darker aren't.
But the originals have lots of visible seams and some blotches -like those under the arms- that don't make any sense. So got rid of them.

Hmm, my headcanon was always that sharkrats have better sense of smell than humans and salads and even in one of their combat animations they seem to utilise it in fights, so I think obstructing the view alone would be too easy to guess.

Anyways, I ended up with two versions, one -newer- is plumpier and has more polys but is more simplistic, and the older is, hmm, kinda petite, but has nicer shape despite less polys, and not sure which I like more.
One problem with the older is that I slid so many verts around the UV is a mess XD

to add to yesterdays, the most difficult part of putting anything between character's legs is the weight shared - in this case of femme parts - between the thigh and the pelvis
If I have ken dolls, then I like the thigh weight to overreach the crotch, so that the poses look nicer or weight transfer
