Ah, Filmation—for when your only other option is no animation at all.
The Filmation-produced "New Adventures of Superman" premiered 60 years ago, on September 10, 1966. The series, although it had that budget-conscious Filmation look, brought back voice talent from the great radio program from years earlier (Bud Collyer, Joan Alexander, and Jackson Beck).

And we've just gotten (very delayed) word about the passing of Leslie Parrish, who was the most unlucky Queen of Diamonds in cinematic history—and we'll always remember her fondly as the alluring and villainous Emma Strunk on Batman. RIP and thanks.
