I've had to explain this even to blue state trans electeds: here in TN, we *had* the rights to healthcare, accurate ID, playing sports, etc.
We lost all of those rights we already had!
I was one of the last trans people who could get their gender changed on their driver's license!

Honestly since people that aren't trans are being goofy here's an apt comparison: this is like if a liberal candidate called me a retard + implied I was a useless eater because I'm neurodiverse.

The big problem I have with asking trans people to willing vote for candidates that will fuck them over so other minorities don't get their rights taken away is "Okay how do know you're also not going cave to right when start trying bring back Jim Crow Laws, my guy?"
