Panic on Bajor, plans of attack by Starfleet (that are never carried out) that oscillate between impotent displays and daring suicide runs, Sisko confronting his wife's killers. In the end, for all the hurt they caused, we were beneath their notice.

You could do a cool story about the Borg coming to analyse the stable wormhole and a Cube just sits there in-system, like a bomb waiting to go off. Doesn't attack anyone, just does a lot of scanning and at the end of the episode flies back to the Delta quadrant.

Recently, despite my feed usually containing trans-positive webcomics and activism, Insta started serving me the worst kind of transphobic hateposts. It took a week of quickly scrolling past any posts containing text or news headlines before it went away.

Recently, despite my feed usually containing trans-positive webcomics and activism, Insta started serving me the worst kind of transphobic hateposts. It took a week of quickly scrolling past any posts containing text or news headlines before it went away.
In the UK, an analysis of 4 mainstream newspapers found they produced 17,000 articles over 5 years on trans people that were overwhelmingly negative (that's nine per day). It's an industrial-sized propaganda machine designed to roll back rights.

Same. Dialogue's a touch on the nose. Not asking for inscrutable layers but you want it one step removed from the conclusion "I feel like I don't belong, that I'm different, but maybe there's nothing wrong with me and I'm meant for something more."

You've mentioned in the past having to push back hard to get H3VR Steam forums not be a cesspool. Is the main thing constantly banning trolls at the first sign and locking their threads or is it something less route one? How do you stop a mob of them exceeding your moderation resources?

Did that 3rd act twist work for you or not? I found it so contradictory that it broke everything that came before it (why make a 10 person ship the size of a colony ship, why film commercials to play on board, how does your daughter miss you when you're the 13th, why not tell the crew the basics!).

Hard no. "It's ok to use the slur against gay people who deserve it" will quickly find others whose definition of deserving is a lot looser than yours. I also don't want to use the same type of hate that puts me shoulder to shoulder with homophobes. There are plenty of creative ways to insult some1

I remember reading a viral social media post about how the skills needed in the post-apocalypse wouldn't be "manly" stuff like hunting or car mechanics, it'd be sewing, cooking and gardening. Clothing disintegrates fast, you need to know how to make meals with scraps, you need more than meat, etc.
