Update on Moving out and Commission Call

Again, I really appreciate all the help I was given with my last comic talking about moving out, doing so many commissions was really fun and helped me a lot with pushing through when home life was getting even more difficult.

A few months ago I put out a comic explaining that I needed to move out, because of my heavily religious and transphobic family, and opened my commissions for people to help out.

You all helped so much more than I was expecting. I was fully prepared to only have a few commissions, but never reach my goal this quick.

But I was proven wrong, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

A couple of weeks after I posted the comic, I found out I was eligible for a youth crisis housing program. So I worked with them to get a room, and moved out of home.

I didn’t tell my parents till the day I left, I left a letter explaining why I moved, where I was going and that I was safe and will have support, and how i wanted to try to rebuild our relationship. Taking my essentials and things that were worth a lot to me.

I’ve been out of home for 3 weeks, and it’s been great finally being able to be myself, to feel more independent and confident.

But this crisis housing program is only a temporary solution, while the staff are going to be helping me find my own place, I still am in a rough spot financially.

So I will still have my commissions open, with a new goal to have enough savings for a rental with a roommate.
