Being an elementary school speech language therapist has really changed kids on screen for me (especially tv). SO many times the age of the kid and the age they are written as are HILARIOUSLY off.
I have a personal belief that the more a person is a nerd for something: dinosaurs, The Odyssey, etc, the less likely they are to enjoy a popular entertainment version of that thing.

I just realized some of why I loved The Poet Empress by Shen Tao and it's because our protagonist's arc is reminiscent of Maia in The Goblin Emperor!
Unfortunately I realized this AFTER I already filmed a video talking about it.

Our new rescue frenchie is still a little too excited about the cats to sleep on the bed (her preference) so instead she throws a mini fit every night about being made to sleep on a cushy dog bed NEXT to the bed. This tantrum includes staring at the cats and going absolutely ham on her chewie.

Yes I will in fact use my White Lady Email powers to complain about the lack of accessibility in our "limited mobility" seating that included limited elevators, no spot for mobility device parking, STAIRS TO THE SEATS, and aisles so narrow anytime anyone got up THE ENTIRE AISLE HAD TO GET UP

so like lemme weigh in on this as someone who is more financially comfortable than many in my generational cohort: everything I have gained seems precarious and temporary because I know the people with real money will take it all from me the second they get an opportunity and no one will protect me.
I don't think it's childish but it's often impractical (especially since my bday is usually the first or second week after we get back from Winter break)
