If it was spring, there's a chance I was there. They were usually pretty good about 'mixing' in that era.

I just saw an interview with him on a station in, I think Columbus, on YouTube last weekend. He was there for a S&S reunion with Smitty and my lady mentioned they were probably the only ones still alive.

JPE is basically the sound of the city. Has been since '81 (yes, I'm old). You probably heard regulating: putting your own words into the songs. There's also a different style called mic rocking, which is more like adding ad-libs. Different JPE DJs do each one.
