The other thing we do is to combine modalities. Text: click the button. If you click there is audio: actually press Enter. Etc. this so far works well because the agents aren't expecting sounds to play a role.

Yes we also use this! One issue is if people use touch screens as it produces similar jump-like behaviour to AI. Unfortunately there is also a model which mimicks human mouse movements (github.com/sockheadrps/...).

I am immensely proud and impressed by @julia-senfft.bsky.social who spearheaded this work. Congratulations to your first first-author paper too, Julia! I very much enjoyed our deep dive conversations :)

We argue for rethinking of the role of uncertainty in anxiety in terms of structural beliefs, and summarize our lab's current thinking about future directions in links between computational neuroscience and applied mental health.

We explore how size and complexity of hypothesis spaces, as well as belief entropy all stand as candidate mechanisms for cognitive aspects of anxiety such as worry, overthinking or catastrophizing.

To be transparent: this is for the Government of Ireland Fellowship which is taking a new form this year (to be announced by the end of September).

We have state of the art neuroimaging facilities (incl. OPM-MEG, MRI, TMS), computational resources, and are supported by fantastic network of collaborators in Ireland, Europe and beyond :)

While the topic is flexible, it should align with lab goals to
i) understand computational and neural mechanisms of uncertainty, ii) how these interact with mental health; and iii) how we can leverage these insights in clinical contexts.

Exactly - keep seeing this argument everywhere these days but it feels like it just doesn't always meet the reality of empirical science ...
