A poo found in the boys urinal lead to 15 mins of soul searching by our head about the descent of society and our bleak future. Next day head returns to update that poo was plumbing back up. Tbf he was right about future
Bizarre things that happened in your assembly: A neighbour of one of the teachers gave us a five-minute lecture about kwashiorkor which involved him reciting a list of his favourite words (yes, ‘kwashiorkor’ was one of them). Included the unforgettable phrase, “Diarrhoea, another beautiful word.”
Some dancers once came to our school once and did a routine to Uptown Girl in the middle of assembly. I've still no idea why.

A friend of mine who was TA’ing for an AmLit course found a copy of Moby Dick a student had left behind. It had only one marginal annotation, around page 100, that simply said “whale is important.”
