I first saw it in south Lebanon in 95. Probably watched it and unhealthy amount of times since.
Avoid the prequel tho, it's a mess. Would love to see the third film made but doubt it'll ever happen

Met him once. He visited us in the glen before we were going to the Lebanon in 95. He had double hearing protection when the troops were going without. Then stood over soldiers being dragged through the courts for hearing loss when he knew the truth
