And then these situations stop happening, and then people stop talking to you entirely, and then you start to wonder, "did I overcorrect? am I being an asshole for no reason and starting to push people away to keep myself safe?" And then someone out of the blue gives you a compliment...

1. Some people need and want a place to talk about things they like; saying you don't like something by itself doesn't add value. You are also entitled to *your own* space to say you hate it.
2. If you want to be critical, obviously don't do it in an insulting or patronizing way.
3. Be nice!

Having only played Myst and Riven, Riven was so much better. I have no idea if the franchise got better or worse; I think my understanding of popular opinion is some is good and some is not.

I know this! I was obsessed with this game as a wee little one.
