It gets harder every time, but I still love it and my teammates.
This year, I didn't manage much beyond playing. Even had to skip closing ceremonies and team dinner (got sick!)
But I made it through 4 days of rugby at 43. That's a triumph.

I've seen people trying to defend it today by saying "No, no, I just use it to brainstorm, bounce ideas, I do the actual writing" and with all the kindness in the world I need to tell you: if there is a stage of writing you are not good at, you need to get good, not use the plagiarism machine.
I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines.

My fashion sense is unique, which is useful when heading out to writing meetups. People recognise me (though several said it took them a second because my hair wasn't pink. I need to fix that)

I thought polishing my 2nd novel would be a 20-30 hour endeavor. Instead, it's a 120-hour endeavor. Minimum.
Sigh.
But this shows how much I've grown as a writer. I had already gone over this prose so many times, and I still can make it so much more gorgeous.

Got some nasty blisters on my heel back at the beginning of June. Still can't run without them ripping open.
It's really frustrating. It's rugby season! I wanna run and hit people! I wanna smash through rucks!
Especially because I know I don't have too many seasons left before I retire.
