I'm starting to wonder if there's a connection in stale old pre-ground coffee not tasting as good as freshly ground beans. I should probably buy a nicer coffee maker, obviously. Or a new mug; maybe that's it.

Had an issue that was driving me nuts for the past couple weeks; thankfully turned out to be a simple mistake on how I was calling a 3rd party endpoint. Frustrating? Yes. Easy fix? Also yes. So I'll take it! Figured it out while working out the details for a support email. Funny, that.

Anytime I think "maybe I should switch to Apple" I use their services and hate the universe. Not sure if there are more electrons in existence or sign in prompts by Apple to use something you already pay for.

Psychological battle of returning from a long injury layoff in middle/late summer (hate the heat) for a club guess-your-time race (aka even half walking can win it, if your estimate is closest). It is a fun one, normally. Have to get over being embarrassingly out of shape.

One definite upside of a physical book is it won't stop working due to low battery when you're in the final chapter of a 14 book series.

Working with a new 3rd party API is always a bit of adventure. Sometimes is odd ways they handle auth. Sometimes horrible docs. Current oddity is no way to search most datasets, so you need to loop. Ahwell.

Getting motivated to get back into family tree research, and fun to see last names that are familiar due to old/current friends that are from (maybe) family ancestors 300 years ago. Some of the research levels are kinda "trust me, bro" so not exactly fully documented.

We have at least 2, possibly up to 4, juvenile red tail hawks and while they do look cool (when seen on powerlines etc), they're generally hidden in the trees and so. damn. loud. The iconic adult scream is awesome (and jarring if close), but so much rarer (understatement).

Aside from the match in '18 where we failed to qualify, worst performance for USMNT I can think of. Lack of hustle (especially for 50-50 balls and closeouts), horrible defending, almost zero in the attacking 1/3. They seemed disjointed and disinterested.

At some point last week I accidentally named a file MAnage, fixed it, and today Visual Studio's file search results is insisting it still has the double caps. Unworkable. Guess it's time to switch to Rider.

First time at the Capitol Theatre; nice venue. 2nd time seeing Ryan Bingham, and was a really good show. Nice mix of new/old/covers over 2 sets.
