Food insecurity in the DC region is at a 5-year high — surpassing even the height of the pandemic, according to a new report from the Capital Area Food Bank.

DC communities need food and jobs, not military occupation and policing.

NEW: Food insecurity in the D.C. region is worse than it’s been in five years — even than during the height of the pandemic.

That's according to a new report from Capital Area Food Bank, @samdelgado.bsky.social reports:
Food insecurity in the DC area hits a new high
Cuts to SNAP, surging costs, and federal layoffs are making it difficult for District residents to put food on the table.

SPOTTED: National Guard soldiers are moving into Gallery 64, a luxury apartment building in SW DC where rent is $2,400/mo for a 1BR or $6,000+/mo for a 3BR.

Instead of helping people afford healthcare or food, Trump is giving occupation forces a rooftop pool.

If you ever visited the Southeast Library in Eastern Market, you'll remember it was... cramped. The newly renovated library reopens this Thursday, and it's awesome. The original building is intact, but an expanded ground floor and new basement have doubled the overall size.

Canvassing for Brad Chambers for PA HD-41 was an incredible experience in 2024. He showed up in-person for every launch and personally knocked 8,000+ doors, connecting w/ residents across the political spectrum to listen, learn and share his vision for education, health care and affordable housing.
We talk with Brad Chambers about housing and the affordability crisis facing Pennsylvanians, and how he plans to tackle that. Members of Lancaster Stands up proudly endorsed his run for the 41st PA House District. Vote for him on November 3rd!

DC's teachers work every day to help students excel.

But because of Trump, DC has the highest rate in the nation of children separated from their parents due to immigration detention.

How disgusted are Americans with data centers?

A whopping 7 of 10 Americans said they would oppose a data center being built near them.

Yet the Trump admin continues to give tax breaks to the Big Tech giants building them.
