I'm relearning a lot of math for this PhD. It's been a tiresome day being told I have forgotten a lot.
Then I gave my first tutorial and I don't think it went well.

Lab meeting day: went great but didn't finish all I wanted to do for the week. Sad to say but some work will have to be done on the weekend (mainly TA stuff!).

First class. Not convinced? It's tough to talk to new people, even at 30 years of age? Week was going well but this brought back the doubts.

Good first meeting of Fall with Supervisor (S) about how to write a grant. Takeaway: write for your audience, don't be afraid to make it creative and personal. Also met with Prof of class I shall TA - good vibes and good times ahead for teaching. Honestly a good day.

The first step of a 4 year long journey is, apparently, picking up your student ID, getting a coupon for a free chai latte, using it right away in pure bliss of being a student at 30 again, and getting back home to set up wifi in the apartment you moved in 4 days before.
