I am sorry to hear about the death of naturalist and neurodivergent activist Joe Harkness

The relationship between neurodivergence and nature is insightfully examined by JOE HARKNESS
Why do neurodivergent people often find themselves in caring careers, and consolation in nature, asks BBC wildlife writer Joe Harkness' book.

Reminder, Taylor Lorenz claims to be a journalist, yet from my own digging, she only talks to PR people and right wing agitators. Her libertarian politics is shrouded in progressive language, but her actions leave allies defamed, causes trashed and her friends struggling to deal with the fallout.
Can social media be addictive?

@taylorlorenz.bsky.social says no.

“You wanting to communicate and chat with your friends every day is not an addiction,” says Lorenz. “And to frame it that way is incredibly harmful and anti-science.”

With all due respect this is like interviewing an alcoholic in a bar and asking if everyone there has a drinking problem.

Get her fake/pampered/hypocritical ass out of the role. She's like someone claiming to love animals, but runs an abattoir. Surely there's someone more prominent & famous to drive the donations, half the world needed to be reminded who she was... the other half didn't give a sh*t 💅

My dad told me "ego is toxic for driving, no one is free of it behind the wheel"
He used to get irritated when people called him a good driver cause "it only takes one bad day to change that" he hated how dependent we were on cars. People's ego's inflate & time becomes an excuse for recklessness
A macho culture of performative selfishness might start on the roads, through racing, rolling coal, ever bigger SUVs ... But it doesn't end there. If we want to live in a decent country which values human life, we need to change this culture. My column.

I too am still boycotting paramount, a friend has a free subscription from her job so we churn the ethics over coffee. She also has amazing Lursa and B'Etor outfits, Barbara March and Gwynyth Walsh are scifi icons and the Duras sisters deserved better storylines and way more screen time ✊
It's a shame they didn't have the same zeal in "Valles Marineris". They were given the thumbs up for the genoc*de of two worlds, but decided 5000± people was a red line. The ethical inconsistency in this show is quite jarring. This weeks episode was good, I just wish the ethics were more consistent.

I am still (11 years later) unable to grasp how the images of little Alan Kurdi’s body washed up on a beach wasn’t the final word on treating refugees with compassion and dignity. How we are we having attacks on the RNLI for saving HUMAN lives being encouraged by our media.

I weep for our world.

RNLI volunteers put themselves in harm’s way to save lives. They should never face abuse or threats for doing so.

That includes the crews based on the Thames, who respond to hundreds of incidents every year.

I have & continue to support the NHS, doctors pay & right to strike by NHS staff, but I will also be critical of medical staff who abuse patient data, poor care, medical gaslighting, negligence and medical harm. We know the NHS isn't perfect, but at the moment, for many, it's barely functional

I see RNLI help people every week. They are the people of my town, they work in places I go daily and the names of lost colleagues mark the promenade, walls & boat houses. The idea of people attacking them is sickening, so donate if you can, they represent our humanity

Your HIV status should be your own information, which you choose to share - or not.

Bad science, poor understanding of the methodology and probably no action to remedy those issues. I work with birds daily, cats are a problem, but not the biggest. The shit coming out your car and boilers are a massive issue. Heat and water stress from climate change a massive fucking issue
Who else but free-roaming domestic cats are going to kill 2.4 billion pesky wild birds every year? Wind turbines can’t even kill 1 million birds a year. Nobody likes to look at wild birds in their neighborhood, right? /s abcbirds.org/solutions/ke...
