The best way to fix the Everything Problem is to get rid of the incentives to using rentierism. It should be as difficult as possible to make money by owning something without putting any kind of work in. For example, getting rid of tax deductions on home ownership and taxing landlord corporations.

Why should metros and high speed rail be profitable? Nobody expects airports or highways to run without subsidies.

the thing dem pols need to internalize is this guy and his entire family will vote republican for the rest of their lives, regardless of the republican party literally ending their livelihood
Brad voted Trump bc he promised to be “the most pro-farmer president you’ve ever had.” Instead, tariffs cut Brad’s export market; the war surged fertilizer prices by 70%. So Brad arranged his family’s final sale.

“Farm is going dry,” said the ad. “Every cow must go.” www.nytimes.com/2026/05/03/u...

I changed my mind. 25% tariffs on Canadian oil are a good idea. President Trump, please pass more carbon taxes. Can we raise it to 50% on all foreign oil?

Obstruct and blame. That is the world we live in; the GOP has done this for decades with nothing but positive consequences.

There is no constituency for "bipartisanship," that is understood by voters to be an endorsement of your opponents and an admission you were wrong.

Obstruct. Blame. Repeat.
I think Dems need to realize they just need to be the McConnell's of the Trump II term, instead of signing off on the immigration legislation or being open to "deals"
That being said this is a total hackjob out of context thing to make Schumer look bad.

"The winners write history" isn't a real thing. Survivors write history. And sometimes that means losers who survive are the ones that write it. Southerners lost the American Civil War and then managed to rewrite history with their Lost Cause Myth and pretended the war was over states' rights.
