New OA Letter: "Root developmental zonation is independent of cell wall pH" rdcu.be/fu1LZ

A cell wall-anchored pH sensor shows that the cell elongation profile does not correlate with cell wall acidification in Arabidopsis roots. #PlantScience

Our new Nat Plants paper introduces WALLΦ, a genetically encoded cell wall pH sensor, and reveals that root developmental zonation is independent of local cell wall pH. Wall pH supports growth at the organ level, but local growth patterns are governed by other mechanisms. doi.org/10.1038/s414...

SALICYLIC ACID SENSOR1 reveals the propagation of an SA hormone surge during plant pathogen advance
Salicylic acid (SA) is a key phytohormone that orchestrates immune responses against pathogens, including Pseudomonas syringae bacteria. The timing and extent of SA accumulation are tightly controlled...

Congratulations to Monika Kubalová from our lab on her new first-author publication in PNAS. www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/... The study uncovers how auxin controls gibberellin levels in Arabidopsis roots through gibberellin-deactivating enzymes GA2OX6 and GA2OX8.
Gibberellin-deactivating GA2OX enzymes act as a hub for auxin–gibberellin cross talk in Arabidopsis thaliana root growth regulation | PNAS
Plant bodies are built from immobile cells, making the regulation of cell expansion essential for growth, development, and adaptation. In roots, ce...

The role of indole‐3‐acetic acid and characterization of PIN transporters in complex streptophyte alga Chara braunii
Auxin, indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), is a key phytohormone with diverse morphogenic roles in land plants, but its function and transport mechanisms in algae remain poorly understood. We therefore aime...
