the blue with the white stripes is the old TTTK livery, yes, but that got rarer and rarer since it was the company's own livery which wasn't enforced by the city. eventually all the second handers got the city design system livery and the one survivor SU unit retained it's TTTK livery (but TLT logo)

also it was less to do with not bothering (although with busses that was the case for a while) and more to do with not having an official city-wide design guide until the mid-10's (and even then it took a little while to repaint them)

our plethora of liveries stemmed from the fact that most of them were 2nd hand from East German cities (because our original stock of KT4SU-s didn't survive apart from one preserved unit)

The worst part of it is that the manufacturers KNOW they're snake oil salesmen and from what I see, a lot of PT operators and authorities know they've fucked up but now need extreme amounts of copium to justify the investments.

It was extremely funny to constantly remind everyone that trolleybusses excist and everyone east of the Fulda gap loves them.
It was even funnier to get into an arguement with some Siemens rep who claimed that trolleybusses would not work in Italy because of the mountainous terrain.

I was at a conference last year where everyone from DtF to TfL to Hamburger Hochbahn to Siemens to Ruter to Karsan (and everyone in between) were engaged in a 2-day circle jerk how battery powered busses are god's gift to everyone (and how you need AI to monitor the batteries)

It's such a contrast to 2021 when Russia massing its troops on the UA border wasn't taken seriously and now everyone freaks out whenever a Russian border guard as little as breathes towards the Estonian border.
