It's inconceivable to me how someone who lost in a free & fair election can incite an angry mob to attack his own government, (the very definition of treason) & be allowed to run for any office ever again.

After seeing this misleading ad in the Albuquerque Journal this past weekend, I did some further research to find out what the real motivation might be. As suspected, this has nothing to do with tribal sovereignty or fairness and everything to do with competing economic interests regarding casinos.

It’s really scary reading this stuff, but it’s extremely important that we understand what we are up against in order to mitigate it. I believe we can and will get past this, but have to be vigilant, strategic and smart. I really appreciate Tim Snyder’s work.
We are seven months away from the most consequential midterm election in US history. Meanwhile, we are fighting a war. These are the structural conditions for a coup attempt in which a president tries to nullify elections and take permanent power as a dictator.

Them: you can’t use batteries or other systems to store energy for when the sun is down or wind isn’t blowing. Also, there is a direct pipe from the dirt in the oil fields to my car’s gas tank so it doesn’t require shipping, refining, storage, gas pumps, etc. 🤦♂️. So fucking stupid!

Absolutely correct. After the Iraq war, I got rid of my gas guzzling V8 pickup truck and switched to a more comfortable Subaru. When that wears out, I will get an EV. The greatest act of resistance that we can do is to use the least amount of fossil fuels as possible.
If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

The New York Times reports that the Department of Homeland Security has sent Google, Meta, and other media corporations subpoenas for the names on accounts that criticize ICE enforcement. The department wants to identify Americans who oppose what it’s doing. I’ll save them time.
