Some of my friends may not know that I officially started my birder life list this year. Before today, I recorded 22 different bird species. Today at work, I saw #23 - the orange crowned warbler! I even got a good video.

Had a bald eagle fly over our house yesterday and land in our tree in the backyard. It sat up there for a while calling out! Very cool!

People are saying that federal workers should be "held to higher standards." Like what? Not having felonies? That's already a standard they have to meet to get the job.

Helped my wife say "goodbye" to her 20's today by throwing a 1920's themed party at a local speakeasy pub. Happy 30th Birthday, honey!

Pentagon removes major media outlets, including NBC News, from dedicated workstations as part of a new 'rotation program'
NBC News, The New York Times, NPR and Politico must vacate their office spaces in two weeks for other news organizations — including at least one that did not request to be added.

Trump's tariffs will likely go into effect by Monday. Grocery prices among other things will skyrocket. The sheer magnitude of incompetence of this administration is going to hurt every American. If you voted for Trump, you're about to regret your choice.

I have settled on a name. Considering I trapped him near a coal mine, his breath was disgusting, one of his legs is currently a little lame and swollen from the trapping process (it happens sometimes), and I love Star Trek, I went with the Romans. Say hello to "Vulcan."

Day 2 of manning. Things are going well so far. Tonight he's more relaxed and we spent some time walking around on the glove and being put down and picked up from the scales.

Success! Dad was with us today so he got to see how the trapping process worked firsthand. He's a healthy, scrappy male with a capture weight of 750g. Unlike my first bird Freya, he's very timid and scared. Haven't figured out a name for him yet...

No luck trapping yet. If I don't successfully trapping by the end of December, I may have to skip this hunting season and wait until next year.
