Glaciologist @matthias-huss.bsky.social shows that the centre of the Great Aletsch glacier in Switzerland (the biggest in the Alps) lost 6 meters(!) of thickness just this summer.

I always wondered why changing the sort order of an Amazon search to alphabetical made the list *smaller*. Now I know it's because that change negates the order that vendors paid for Amazon to put them at the top. 🫤
The first item on a typical Amazon search results page is 29% more expensive than the best match for your search. The top row is 25% more expensive. The best result is usually on the second screen, somewhere around the 17th position:
