The AI companies want a bailout. simple as. They want to be nationalized - they want Trump to take a 50% stake because they can't go public and their business model is massively unstable and unsustainable.

I know I am not the median voter. But when I watch Trump performances like the one we just endured in North Carolina, I can't escape the feeling that our problems go much deeper than "affordability" and we're whistling past the graveyard if we reduce our politics to that issue.

If there's a single graph you need to see to understand the AI extinction debate, it's this. To survive, frontier AI giants need to burn $10 trillion (a tenth of world GDP) over nxt 5 years. But they will only earn $3 trillion - a financial blackhole of $7 trillion. Who is going to go extinct?
